The Worth of Messiah

Does He mean enough to you to count everything else as loss?

Today something new is happening on earth. In response to the amazing sacrifice of the Messiah, whom we call by His Hebrew name, Yahshua, men and women all over the earth are truly giving their lives to him.

Priceless

Now listen to this! This is not just some new doctrine or utopian ideal; this is about real people in real places. We have seen the love that Messiah had for us: He lived His whole life without sinning, but doing His Father's will completely. He was obedient to the point that He willingly died the most brutal death of His day -- crucifixion. He took all our sins, for which we justly deserved to die, upon Himself and went into the torture of death to pay for every last one of them. Then He, the most righteous man, was delivered from death's jaws just as Jonah was delivered from the belly of the great fish. This means we now have the power to be right with God.

He is worth everything! Nothing can tip the scales to lessen His worth. If I could compare His worth to something, it might be like a merchant who found the greatest pearl that ever was. The price of the pearl was everything he owned. Don't you think, if it was really worth it, that he would give up everything to obtain it? How gladly he would!

To Own the Pearl

But the Son of God said that it was a narrow way to get to His Kingdom, one that required much. You would have to lay down your life, pick up your cross daily, and give up everything to get on the Way. Yes, everything means everything -- houses, estates, assets, your family members who are not willing, even your own opinions and your authority over your own life. All those who forsake everything are then set free to love in exactly the same self-sacrificing way that their Master did. All these people have the costly substance called forgiveness lavished upon them. With their sins forgiven, they can begin life all over again and enter into the progressive process by which they are saved from the power of their sins!

The love of God is poured liberally into their hearts, and it bubbles over, gushing out onto those around. Nothing can quench it -- nothing! The fascinating effect of the Gospel holds them spellbound, and nothing is an impossible or intolerable demand. Messiah is worth it all.

The Outworking of Love

They begin to live in communities, where they all live together, in the same house. This is the only acceptable lifestyle because the love they have for one another has to be shown. Their life together in community, the place where they work together, eat together, live together, and meet together twice a day, is a light that shines brightly to those around. It expresses, through a visible demonstration, the love of God and the love of the Messiah who died and went into death to forgive them.

Now these are not superhumans that are mysteriously born this way. No, these are regular people, full of problems and irritating ways, as different as the birds in a rain forest. There is nothing special or superhuman about them. It is simply because their great King is changing them, slowly but surely, into men and women who are just like Him. Like birds flocking into the branches of His great tree, they are all learning to sing the same song in harmony with one another. If you are willing, you can come and sing too. There's a place for you!

Love and Authority Go Hand in Hand

We never have to wonder what God's will is for us, since there is true authority on the earth. After centuries of oppression, apostolic authority, set in place by our Father, is alive and well. This is very encouraging!

With apostolic authority reestablished, God could then begin the restoration of something very old. 2000 years ago, the same thing happened. When the first church began, they also lived the same way we are living. They were meant to be the Bride for Messiah. Slowly but surely, they drifted away from this simple love. Pews, organs, bishops, and preachers came in, and the Bride of Messiah became something else (Revelation 18:2).

Our Master Yahshua is able to save any and all, and change them to be just like Him! We invite you to come join in our special, wonderful life, which is the proof that we have received the Pearl of Great Price.  Anyone who really wants to do God's will is welcome here, for this is where God lives. He lives and acts through those people whom He is saving. We hope to see you soon!

The Twelve Tribes is a confederation of twelve self-governing tribes, composed of self-governing communities. We are disciples of the Son of God whose name in Hebrew is Yahshua. We follow the pattern of the early church in Acts 2:44 and 4:32, truly believing everything that is written in the Old and New Covenants of the Bible, and sharing all things in common.
