David Derush introduces the series "Uncovering the Real Gospel". David describes his childhood, how he gave up on being good, acquired a bad conscience, and became a cynical atheist. At the age of 25, he met the "Jesus People" in the 70's and became a believer. He spent the next 28 years trying to make sense of the confusion, trying to be a follower of Jesus, but finding himself frustrated and disillusioned. From church to church, group to group, he tried a street outreach in Virginia. It crashed and burned, reducing him to tears. He realized he didn't understand the gospel, as it truly is, but had been told something different, a different gospel. Laying in bed at night, he cried out to God - "What am I missing? There has to be more! Where is this life that I read about in the Bible?" Then, he ran into them - a people who were living it. His life was incredibly transformed when he met a group of people who were loving one another. A child can understand it.
