The community in Lancaster began in 1988 when a small group of us had vision to restore an old, fire-damaged building down on Main Street. Amazingly, restoration has been coming to this building just as it has been in our lives as we've given ourselves to sharing a common life of love and unity -- devoted to one another and to our Creator. At this time there are about 35 of us living and working together. Every morning and evening we gather together to sing, dance, and share from the overflow of our hearts the thanksgiving we have for the one we believe made it possible for us to have this rich, full life together: our master, Yahshua the Messiah.
We have had many visitors drop in for a few hours or arrange for extended visits. More than just simply looking for helpers in exchange for accommodations, our guests are alongside us and learning with us the deeper things of life. Usually, we arrange visits of 1 or 2 days, but, if you are really enjoying the rhythm of our life, an extended stay can be discussed. Contact the community directly you'd like to visit. The Twelve Tribes is a confederation of twelve worldwide self-governing tribes, made up of self-governing communities. We are disciples of the Son of God (whose name in Hebrew is Yahshua). We follow the pattern of the early church written in Acts 2:44 and 4:32, sharing all things in common. We believe everything that is written in the Old and New Covenants of the Bible.
